Facebook Girls in Ads....

Are you in these photos?

Facebook is investing loads of the money in advertising and the most hot selling are the Do You Need a Girlfriend Ads.

Who are these girls ??

- Meet Single Women

- Like Fun Loving Girls

- Want a Girlfriend?

- Girlfriend Chahiye?

- Have Fun with Locals

- Looking for a Date?

- Find your Soulmate

- Meet Hot Singles

- Free Online Dating.......etc..

There could be times when you may see someone you know because these are pictures from some profiles randomly selected. Yes, they are real girls..The natural looks in these pictures makes it genuine. The ads are wisely placed and targeted for different countries. Facebook makes sure that it is not someone from your country. The algorithm used says that the possibility of seeing a known person is minimal and can be 1 out of million. It could be that your photo is being shown in another country.

The problem with these ads is that they look more like an escort service then real dates which is why it is getting extremely popular and bringing loads of money to facebook. FB has also provided the option to give feedback if you dont like these ads. If you click on the X next to the ad this screen pops up-

It doesn't matter which one you select, these advertisements will continue to appear in the sidebar. I find it extremely misleading and annoying and have filled up these feedbacks many times. No action taken from FB as of now.

Mouse for Men concept futuristic mouse

The Mouse for Men concept design offers an interesting take on the mouse that we’ve come to know and love. This concept mouse features a flexible touchscreen display with pressure sensitive technology to enhance the experience. Inspired by a real mouse, this computer mouse features a separable tail, though it doesn’t do much to improve your computer productivity skills. The blue lines on the mouse actually remind us of TRON, but then again, maybe we’ve been watching the movie too much recently.

Facebook Gun Sale Backfires

Apparently there are people trying to sell guns on Facebook. Or at least one guy was, and then his buyers turned the gun on him.

He’d actually had a posting on his Facebook profile advertising the sale of a .38 revolver Adding to the intrigue, the seller’s a convicted felon on parole, according to CBS Chicago.
The four would-be buyers robbed him while he showed them the gun inside a car. They ordered him to get out of the car and drove off with it.
The victim called the police to report the robbery and the police discovered he’s a felon on parole. Police found the car with the four suspects in it, arrested them and also the paroled felon. All five men are behind bars.
We’re glad to know the Chicago police served justice, but feel less comfortable about the fact that a convicted felon on parole was able to post a weapon for sale on Facebook. Even though the site has done a great job of helping law enforcement fight crime, it’s far from perfect.
In the case of the .38 listing, law enforcement caught up with something that might have been going on for a while. Facebook’s burgeoning marketplace may have included not-so-legal weaponry sales for some time now.
Does Facebook need to create stricter rules about what people can sell on the site? Should this include background checks of sellers?

Facebook’s Eldest User Is 103 Years Old

Mature adults are driving the most recent growth in Facebook’s membership, so it makes perfect sense that even the eldest are joining the site. The oldest user appears to be 103-year-old Lillian Lowe of Tenby England.

She became the eldest on Facebook after the previous record oldest member died in July at age 104. Said individual, Ivy Bean, also hailed from England, interestingly enough.

The 103-year-old Lowe told United Press International that she has 34 friends on Facebook, including seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She accesses the site on her iPad, and enthuses:

I love it — it’s very exciting. It’s a wonderful way of finding out about things. I recommend it for any grandparents to keep in touch with family.

Apparently, Facebook spokespeople haven’t confirmed whether Lowe is in fact the eldest. But the way she uses the site appears to be catching on, at least based on what I see happening among my own friends there. Grandparents have been figuring out that their grandkids are logging on daily, or almost that frequently.

Readers, have you seen anyone older than 103 years on Facebook? Who’s the oldest person on your friend list?

Video: Professor Surgically Installs Camera In Head, Starts Tracking the World Behind Him

Camera in Head...

The New York University professor who planned to implant a camera in his head has finally done it.
About a week ago, Wafaa Bilal had a tattoo artist implant a titanium disc on the back of his head, so he can magnetically attach a small surveillance camera. He even set the whole procedure to music — check out this clip from CNN.

Once the soreness subsides, Bilal will wear his camera for a year as it snaps photos at one-minute intervals. The images will be beamed live to the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar as part of a project called “The 3rd I.”

He acknowledges he’ll get a lot of mundane shots — in the clip, you can see his shower curtain and a bottle of what looks to be olive oil — but that’s part of the point, to comment on the “inaccessibility of time and the inability to capture memory and experience.”

Bilal, an Iraqi who fled his country under Saddam Hussein, is known for provocative art installations — earlier this year, he received 105,000 tattoos to commemorate those killed in the Iraq war, for instance. During the project, called “And Counting,” the names of Iraqi cities were tattooed on his back, along with 5,000 red dots to represent the American military personnel killed in Iraq and 100,000 dots in invisible ink, representing the official death toll for Iraqis. The whole procedure was streamed live.

To protect his students’ privacy, Bilal will attach a lens cap to the camera when he’s on the NYU campus. But nothing else is off limits — he will wear it to bed, for instance, and it’s waterproof, so it even goes in the shower. Find out more on his website.
