Summer is hot, we get it, and sitting in our chairs all day will result in some pretty sweaty thighs and bottoms, unless of course you have the luxury of sitting in an air-conditioned room all day. For those who are not so fortunate, Thanko has the solution for you in the form of the “AC Ass Cushion”, or better known as the USB Seat Cooler. It fits on top of your chair and will feature a USB plug, which you can plug it into your computer, keeping your bottom, and the base of of your thighs cool. The power from your computer will power the mini fans built into the cushion, much like how laptop base coolers work, and the wind will be pushed through the mini holes found on the cushion.

Alternatively you can take the cushion and bring it along with you in the car, where thanks to what Thanko refers to a “USB Vehicle Charging Adapter” which plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, you can keep your bottom cool during a hot drive home. A pretty novel idea, we’ll have to admit, although we’re not sure how durable it actually is. Doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience should you sit on this and break one of the fans, does it?

U.S. officials have confirmed that a stash of porn was found in Osama bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound.

The porn, which consists of “modern, electronically recorded video,” is “fairly extensive,” the officials told Reuters, which broke the initial story Friday. The officials could not confirm exactly where the porn was discovered in the compound. They also could not confirm whether bin Laden himself had bought or viewed the stash. Though bin Laden’s compound had televisions, it did not have an Internet connection or hard-wired communications network.

The porn cache isn’t the only disclosure to come out of the May 2 raid by Navy SEALS. On May 7, the Pentagon released five videos featuring bin Laden. Those videos, released without audio, show a gray-haired bin Laden watching himself on TV, and on another occasion, rehearsing a speech in front of an armoire. The raid yielded 2.7 terabytes of data and is the “largest collection of senior terrorist materials ever collected,” officials told the AP.

Japan gets LED smiles



Trust the Japanese to come up with some really far out ideas from time to time – where we have LED smiles light up the Land of the Rising Sun this time around. This is definitely one interesting body modification mod, although it won’t require a macho pain tolerance level and there isn’t any blood involved. What the LED smiles do would draw a fair number of looks compared to a tattoo or labret, simply because it lets your teeth flash in different colors. The brainchild of Japanese designers Motoi Ishibashi and Daito Manabe,the LED smiles were originally featured in a fashion advertisement in Japan, where it has turned into an accessory for now. No idea on how long this fad is going to last though, but hopefully no one grows a third arm or tail after literally flashing their smiles with these for a long time.

It has been thirty years since John Lennon’s death but even now auctions of articles related to him generate a lot of excitement and aggressive bidding. Braswell Galleries’ annual New Year’s Day auction held last Saturday had some Beatles memorabilia and a white suite that was custom made for Lennon by French designer Ted Lapidus. Owner Kathy Braswell was very happy and excited about the successful event which she said was their biggest event of the year.

Now there is more exciting news for John Lennon fans. The first car he bought after passing the driving test will be seen at the auction block next month. The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Coupe was bought by the Beatle in 1965 and is expected to sell for between 120,000 euros (£99,987) and 170,000 euros (£141,000). Lennon’s biographer, Philip Norman has described how the car was purchased in some detail.
Car dealers descended on the singer’s home to offer him luxury cars after the news came in that John had passed the driving test. The Ferrari caught his eye and paid £2,000 for it. Bonhams will be handling the auction in Paris on February the 5^th. A rusted green 1972 Chrysler station wagon Lennon and Yoko Ono owned was recently bought by Hank Gioiella of Darien who paid $5,500 (£3,500) for it.

Tombstone Of a Geek...

The picture above is the tombstone of a 26 year old computer geek named Hu Chuang from China. Hu Chuang was a tech freak and had logged off from his life recently in the course of sending emails to his friends.


Because of his love for computers his parents decided to build and carve a tombstone that looked like a computer. A keyboard and a mouse was also added. The display shows his date of birth and death. His parents even kept his email account open so that his friends and loved ones can keep sending him messages apparently "because who knows,maybe he can read them on the other side".
